Job Purpose The Lead Regulatory Analyst provides leadership to the AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) team as it relates to any and all regulatory proceedings and relevant stakeholder management in both the NY and MA jurisdictions. The Lead Regulatory Analyst will ensure compliance on all regulatory mandates and processes, coordinate internally on other regulatory proceedings that are dependent on AMI deployment, and follow developing and ongoing legislative and policy changes at the local, state, and federal level that may impact the program.
Key Accountabilities Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates and processes, including potentially being called upon to testify before state regulatory bodies to support National Grid s AMI implementation plan
  • Stay informed of and assess the potential impact of relevant regulatory and policy developments
  • Lead the development of regulatory deliverables, including coordination and compilation of metrics consistent with reporting requirements
  • Lead development of discovery and Rate Case responses. With leadership, develops regulatory strategy/pathways for approval.
  • Develops and maintain relationships with regulators and other key stakeholders involved in the regulatory process, and acts as an effective representative on behalf of National Grid. Attend regulatory meetings as necessary
  • Maintain key milestone dates and schedules for regulatory and compliance items in both jurisdictions
  • Regularly coordinate internally with regulatory strategy, legal, and other key internal stakeholders
  • Develop expertise on benefit cost analysis (excel-based model) for AMI program
    • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related work experience in Regulatory experience, including managing regulatory processes or contributing to regulatory filings
    • Knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation preferred.
    • Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Effective at working in highly matrixed organizations.
    • Ability to communicate complex information in simple, easy-to-understand ways.
    • Valid driver s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid s Safe Driver policy.
