The team at Panametrics, a Baker Hughes business, designs and manufactures a range of sensing instrumentation. These sensors are utilized in a vast array of market segments.

The Materials Manager plays a pivotal role in the management of the planning, scheduling, site inventory, storage, and distribution of materials and products in the supply chain. The role requires a strong understanding of supply chain operations, logistics, and inventory management, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

As a Materials Leader, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and implementing supply chain strategies, policies, and procedures for the planning, scheduling, site inventory, storage, and distribution of materials and products.
  
• Managing inventory levels and ensure stock availability to meet production needs while minimizing inventory holding costs.
  
• Coordinating with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and products.
  
• Monitoring supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality and reliability of supplies.
  
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including production, sales, and logistics teams, to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  
• Leading a team of materials management staff, providing direction, coaching, and support to ensure effective performance and achievement of departmental goals.
  
• Analyzing supply chain data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in cost, quality, and efficiency.
  
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize supply chain operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
  
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to supply chain operations.
  
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support new product launches and other business initiatives.

  To be successful in this role you will:
  
  
  • 
    
  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing). Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Materials Planning and Execution
    
  • Be able to demonstrate experience in a leadership or supervisory role
    
  • Be able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
    
  • Have experience in planning and material management
    
  • Be experienced and comfortable questioning and influencing stakeholders towards change and positive outcomes
    
  • Be a motivated self-starter, proactively taking the initiative to lead and solve problems
