Overview What would you do as an Inventory Control Specialist working for Rapiscan Systems | AS&E? You would put cutting edge detection technology in the hands of our customers who confiscate a portion of the estimated 550,000 firearms seized every year. You would help prevent distribution of some of the 450 tons of heroin produced every year, destined for cities in the US and across the globe. You would help prevent trade fraud, while protecting our ports, borders, and military. You would help prevent terrorism, like attacks on high-threat facilities and special events like the Super Bowl. Rapiscan Systems | AS&E, an OSI Systems Company, is based out of Billerica, MA. The role can be broken into 2 main categories. First, you will be performing a wide variety of hands-on, direct labor picking to support the ship-along process for the Cargo product line. You will be provided a high level of autonomy and have responsibility for self-directing and managing the workflow in the Pack and Ship cell. Second, you will be responsible for assisting with production control, analysis and investigation with the Cargo Planner and Manufacturing Lead. This is a highly dynamic position with minimal oversight which provides a high level of visibility within the organization. Responsibilities Is responsible for the kitting, picking, and packing of all material that flows through the "Pack and Ship" cell. Coordinates with production to ensure "ship-along" material is ready and supports the overall production schedule. Manages the onsite requirements of outsourced packaging labor to ensure crating is complete and the schedule aligns with the system shipping plan. Physically prepare shipments for pickups including picking/packing and overseeing the crating of cargo systems. Provides support to Supply Chain to address supply shortages and inventory discrepancies. Research and resolve issues, questions, or problems that arise to include part shortages, part discrepancies, and Bill of Materials (BOM) errors. Works with Production Leads to have sub-assemblies built in accordance with the packing and shipping schedule Accurately complete work orders to its subsequent levels. Investigate production control problems, analyze root causes, and derive solutions Maintains inventory accuracy by properly counting, recording, and staging parts. Multi-task to support changing demands to meet production and shipping deadlines while maintaining shipping schedules Coordinate with Inventory management to drive material expediting needed to meet production requirements Knowledge of bills of materials (BOM) structure Safety of personnel, quality of products, and on time shipment of products meeting customer's expectations are key objectives of all employees. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business Qualifications High School diploma and 4-6 years of manufacturing or production control Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, use basic hand tools as required and work independently Basic excel skills are a plus!
