Our commitment to excellence in imaging performance, innovative design, and uncompromising quality ensures our solutions consistently deliver best-in-class imaging, high reliability, and operator satisfaction, to help customers find threats and contraband with ease and confidence.Senior Mechanical Engineer:A challenging role, with requirements to provide technical leadership and contribute fully to all aspects of mechanical design on new and existing X-Ray security scanning equipment, while working to tight commercial schedules. Conducts analysis and testing on unique designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of design documentation, design testing and prototype fabrication. Creates test procedures in support of design verification. Collaborates closely with all organizational disciplines in order to ensure overall system meets or exceeds customer expectations.ResponsibilitiesExecute complex designs in support of established product requirements.Provide design concepts with analytical justification.Demonstrate design verification to core development team and discipline peers.Perform detailed mechanical design in support of larger system design efforts with responsibilities extending to project integration.Apply theoretical calculation to support designs in areas such as structural analysis, thermodynamics and fluid flow, or by testing mathematical models to validate the capabilities and parameters of the design and prove the prototype will meet product requirements.Develop documentation necessary for preliminary and critical design reviews and support designs through the full product lifecycle.Proficient in computer design tools, specifically 3D solid modeling CAD.Support the development of project schedules and effort estimations with senior staff and program managers.Provide regular project technical status to functional and program management.Demonstrate ability to independently accomplish tasks and in support of project schedules.Provide technical and professional guidance to junior engineers and drafting/CAD staff.Create design and documentation information for production documentation package.Collaborate with peers in cross-functional areas such as electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering and supply chain.Rigorously adhere to company and quality procedures and requirements.Identify, initiate and implement process improvements.Actively appraise technology and product concepts to keep product lines competitive and maintain excellence by attending seminars, reading related articles and talking to vendors. Uphold the companys core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork Demonstrate behavior consistent with the companys Code of Ethics and ConductIt is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problemDuties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant study.Relevant experience in senior mechanical engineering role required (min 5 to 10 years).Experience working in a cross-functional environment.Experience in large commercial equipment product development.Proficiency in 2D and 3D solid modeling CAD tools.Experience with Bills-of-Materials and associated workflows (ECOs).Experience working with Design-for-Manufacturing and Design-for-Cost.Solid working knowledge of machine shop and drafting practices.Familiar with the following design disciplines: sheet metal, structural welded assemblies, plastic injection molding, vacuum forming, and machining.Strong communication skills, including excellent writing and presentation skills.Good documentation and process discipline.Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.Domestic/International travel required SDL2017
