Job Description:

This is a unique opportunity to join the E Ink Team developing a revolutionary new technology and product at the interface between biology, chemistry, and electronics.

The responsibilities of this engineering position will include the creation and support of low volume production prototypes as well as scale-up and production of an electronic chemical system. This will include manufacturing methods development, supply chain development, engineering, testing, and quality systems for a complex integrated system. This exciting position will expose you to materials science, thin film coatings and the creation of device prototypes (which will integrate chemical, mechanical and electrical systems). The Manufacturing Operations Engineer will be responsible for establishing the manufacturing processes and supply chain while building devices to support partner activities. The successful candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment in manufacturing work on a complex system involving electronics and chemistry. This position reports to the leader of the operations group.

Job Responsibilities

* Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed * Study production, equipment and apparatus requirements * Develop and test effective automated and manual systems * Design and install equipment * Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources * Integrate disparate systems (chemical, mechanical and electrical) * Optimize lab and/or facility layouts, production lines and equipment operations * Resolve issues and delays in production * Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality * Assist in training staff in new and existing processes * Collaborate with our scientists, technicians, engineers, contractors and suppliers for best manufacturing practices * Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations * Upgrade systems and processes with new technology


* Degree in Engineering or Science; post-graduate degree is a plus * 5 years' experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar role * Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and equipment or tool design * Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques * Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations * Ability to occasionally work late shifts * Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. Python, Matlab, JMP, MS Office)


* 5 years' experience in Project management * Knowledge of thin film deposition techniques and characterization
