Be a part of our mission to provide our customers with best-in-class cargo and vehicle screening systems and services so they can combat terrorism, trade fraud, drug and weapon smuggling, and illegal immigration.ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Electronics Design Engineer, you will design circuits that power and control our broad array of scanning systems. You will develop solutions that address each customer's unique security needs from creating interfaces for portable x-ray scanners mounted on experimental robots and drones; mobile systems that enhance security at special events such as the Superbowl; to cargo scanning systems at airports, seaports, train tracks, and the borders that help our customers identify and stop threats and illegal contraband.Working in a "cutting-edge' cross-functional engineering team environmentContinually seeking and researching new technologies for integration into new productsDesigning and developing embedded hardware and firmware for X-Ray imaging systemsDesigning Analog circuits using OpAmps, transistors, ADC, DAC, and othersDesigning Digital circuits using Microcontrollers, FPGAs, CPLDs, RAM & DDR memory, and othersDeveloping Test Fixtures and/or PCB's Designed for Test Selecting and specifying electrical components in support of PCA designPreparing documentation for PCAs such as component selection, Schematic capture, PCB Layouts, Assembly Drawings, BOMs, etc.Providing oversight of PCB design and layout for manufactureCollaborate with Sales, Design and Project teams during the conceptual phase of equipment development to carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, complexity and cost limitsPerforming sustaining engineering functions to maintain existing productsSupporting Field Service Techs and customers with program changes, phone support, problem-solving and troubleshooting of controls and instrumentation issuesUpholding the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and TeamworkDemonstrating behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.Understanding that it is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective actions to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.Understanding that duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the businessQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; M.S. is a plus7+ years' design experience desiredExperience with FPGA development and simulation tools required. Xilinx development tool experience required. VHDL a plusExperience with programming / scripting languages such as C/C++; LabView a plusExperience with analog and digital circuits; microprocessor hardware, software, their respective development environment and tools.Experience with 2D CAD Electrical Schematic packages, such as OrCAD and/or Altium Designer; EPLAN a plusMust be able to complete job responsibilities in consideration of different time zone needs such as attending late night/early morning meetings by phone and/or web to meet business needsDomestic travel required, SDL2017
