Kelly Engineering is currently recruiting for a (Direct Hire)
(Engineering Manager) job located in Billerica, MA. The Manager,
Engineering (Stratus ECD Business Unit), is a ‘working supervisor,
spending approximately 50% of the time supervising personnel and
projects, and 50% of the time being a hands-on Engineering leader.
This position will be responsible for leading the Stratus ECD
engineering staff to support business unit objectives, prioritizing
tasks and projects within the engineering team, and ensuring that
tasks are on track to meet schedule and budgetary objectives.
Key Responsibilities and Duties / Essential Functions:
Supervise and lead the efforts of approximately 12 Engineers and
Co-Ops within the Stratus ECD Business Unit.
Works with the Stratus ECD BU Sr. Director to define sustaining
engineering activities and product roadmap needs.
Leads the translation of requirements from product and process
needs into actionable projects for process, chemical, structural
and automation sub-systems, including component selection.
Develops concept and feasibility hardware designs for
Develops and execute test plans for production hardware
functionality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Insures quality of designs and release packages meet
Partners with manufacturing engineering to troubleshoot
fabrication problems and improve the manufacturability of
sub-systems and parts.
Collaborates with field service engineers and customers to
identify product improvement opportunities and devise
Tracks the status of projects and schedules engineering tasks in
response to changing priorities for the business unit.
Develop and manage job performance goals and metrics for
engineers, as well as develop opportunities for learning and growth
within the business for assigned personnel.
Works with the Stratus ECD BU Sr Director to recruit and hire
mechanical engineering or related positions, as required to support
the business unit.
Responsible for the daily supervision, oversight, and
coordination of the CoOp efforts within the Stratus ECD Business
BS, (MS Preferred), in Mechanical Engineering
10+ years’ related experience in the Semiconductor industry or
other capital equipment development business.
Leadership experience as either a people or project manager
Expertise in CAD, preferably SolidWorks; with proven experience
designing parts and assemblies for manufacturing.
Thorough understanding of engineering release & change order
(ECO) and workflow management.
Ability to read detailed engineering drawings, specifications,
and understanding of Geometric, Dimensional and Tolerance per ASME
