Senior Data Scientist - Customer Analytics in Big Data
Environments (Gamma) - (The Boston Consulting Group, Inc. - Boston, MA): Deliver value to BCG clients by focusing on the
customer analytics component of a consulting engagement and providing powerful, analytics-based insights,
quantitative methods, predictive modeling, and visualizations designed to help our clients tackle their most
pressing business problems as they relate to customer behavior. Specific duties include: oversee engagements involving
end-to-end analytics in the full value-chain, including framing business challenges, building fact-bases,
designing innovative analytics workflows, interpreting findings through predictive modeling and proposing strategic
recommendations in collaboration with case teams; manage the full analytics value-chain end to end; build and
execute solid analytics work plans; gather and organize large and complex data assets; perform relevant analyses (data
exploration and statistical modeling); manage client relationships with client counterparts to understand client's
problems and explore data environment; prepare and present findings to clients in a structured way; act as a
thought leader on leading-edge business applications, tools and approaches; and work with the Analytics Leadership to
enhance offerings that deliver competitive advantage to BCG. Requires a Master's degree in economics, applied
mathematics, business analytics, marketing, or other data- centric discipline (willing to accept foreign education
equivalent) and two (2) years of experience performing advanced data analytics, including machine learning and artificial
intelligence, as well as managing client relationships. Alternatively, will accept a Ph.D. in economics, applied
mathematics, business analytics, marketing, or other data- centric discipline (willing to accept foreign education
equivalent). Specific skills/other requirements (quantitative experience requirement not applicable to this section) – must
possess the following: (i) Performing data management by developing customized queries, performing data evaluation on
large datasets and conducting extensive data ETL process in both local and cloud environments; (ii) Designing
interactive data visualization using D3/JavaScript and Tableau; (iii) Applying machine learning techniques in at least
one of the following areas: pricing, promotional effectiveness, loyalty program effectiveness, customer churn
prevention, customer segmentation and personalization; (iv) Utilizing segmentation/clustering techniques, predictive
modeling, optimization and simulation methods in a business environment; (v) Utilizing the following
programming/analytics languages, in a business environment: R, Python, D3/JavaScript, and SQL; and (vi) Using
analytics/collaboration platforms, including AWS, Azure, and
Github. Domestic/international travel (up to 50%) based on
company/client need. Multiple positions available. Must have unrestricted authorization to work in U.S. M-F, 9:00 a.m. to
