experience required - Ability to read telemetry strips Description:
Position available for a registered nurse in the intensive care
unit. The facility has a 20-bed medical/surgical ICU. The unit
specializes in caring for a wide range of adult patients. Common
diagnoses include substance abuse, severe psychiatric conditions,
DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal
failure, and cardiogenic shock. Attendings and residents are
available in the ICU 24 hours a day. Floating to medical/surgical
units is required. Telemetry competency is a must. The RN to
patient ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity. When
floated to other medical/surgical areas, the ratio may change to
1:4 or 1:5. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. 5
