Job Description:
Catholic Medical Center, a leader in comprehensive healthcare,
seeks a motivated Nurse Extern PRN for our Cardiac Medical Surgical
Telemetry unit. This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance
skills and gain valuable experience in a supportive, faith-based
community hospital setting. The Nurse Extern will assist in
delivering high-quality care under the supervision of experienced
nursing staff, focusing on cardiac patients who require continuous
monitoring and acute medical interventions. Assist in the
monitoring of cardiac telemetry equipment and alert medical staff
to potential issues. Support the nursing team in the delivery of
patient care, including taking vital signs, administering
medications, and updating patient records. Participate in the
assessment and evaluation of patient needs to ensure comprehensive
care. Engage in patient and family education under the guidance of
registered nurses. Follow all hospital policies and procedures to
maintain a safe and effective work environment. Knowledge of basic
nursing principles and protocols Ability to operate or learn how to
operate cardiac telemetry equipment Strong observational and
communication skills Capable of handling high-stress situations
with a calm demeanor Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision

Certification required or must be obtained within a specified
timeframe after hire. ACLS certification is preferred but not
mandatory.
