Registered Nurse (RN) | Psych Location: Manchester, NH Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,032 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year in Geriatric Psychiatry and Long-Term Care or Rehabilitation experience preferred License: Valid state nursing license Certifications: BLS, CPI Must-Have: Geriatric psychiatric inpatient unit experience Foley catheter and wound care skills Comfort with patients requiring hands-on assistance, including incontinence care and mobility deficits Description: The position requires a registered nurse with experience in geriatric psychiatry. The nurse will work on a locked unit catering to involuntary patients. Common diagnoses include unspecified psychosis, dementia with and without behavioral disturbances, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and other acute psychiatric conditions in addition to cognitive impairment. The average daily patient census is 25 with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. The unit is structured into two halves, accommodating patients based on their cognitive abilities and group participation levels. Safety checks are conducted every 15 minutes, and one-on-one patient care is provided when necessary. The unit uses lift equipment for patient handling, with training provided, and IV therapy is also conducted. Communication is facilitated through specific phones and panic alarms installed throughout the unit. Nurses may be required to float to adult behavioral health departments and assist with basic tasks when necessary. Every other weekend is required for service.
