Under the direction of the Director of Finance Operations, this position is responsible for the overall management of multiple and complex Finance Operations production processes including provider disbursements, collections, and negative balance recovery for all lines of business. The Senior Manager will demonstrate strong leadership, business acumen, problem solving and collaboration to develop and coordinate strategy, prioritize day-to-day operational deliverables, and implement key initiatives across a variety of teams, including internal and external business partners to support the development and execution of the broader enterprise strategy. In addition, this position will build and manage a team that delivers quality results efficiently and timely.Key Responsibilities/Duties what you will be doingOverall Responsibilities:

  • Interact regularly with Finance Operations management and leadership teams to understand business strategy and deploy solutions to best achieve business goals
  • Prioritize work across multiple project types and ongoing management to meet critical deadlines; help remove roadblocks
  • Oversee highly complex and/or significant initiatives or business processes to ensure accurate and timely completion, and communicate project and team statuses, issues, risks, and recommendations to internal partners, including executive leadership
  • Collaborate closely with business partners, including IT counterparts to identify areas of automation and efficiency
  • Define talent strategy required to achieve business objectives across a multi-functional team
  • Support, coach, and train staff to ensure a smooth functioning and high performing department; Mentor, motivate and develop staff to obtain maximum performance; Provide performance feedback and reviews
  • Continuously improve department procedures, management processes and technology solutions
  • Ensure adherence to corporate controls and polices, and regulatory requirementsDetailed Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for the timely validation, monitoring and release of weekly and monthly provider payments (claims and capitation) for all lines of business, including Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid, including manual payments and cash advances and the timely resolution of production issues
    • Oversees various Finance Operations claims/medical payment processes including void payment and refund processing, and unapplied cash receipts, online banking processes and resolution of payment issues for all business lines
    • Responsible for provider negative balance collection processes including monitoring balances across multiple claims systems and lines of business, facilitating interdepartmental workgroups to optimize operational collection processes, ensuring timely and accurate provider collections and reporting, and communicating status to Leadership
    • Implementation of corporate projects and business initiatives into existing business processes, including new payment arrangements, vendor programs, business partnerships and system implementations to support key strategic initiativesQualifications what you need to perform the jobEDUCATION: (Minimum education & certifications required)
      • Bachelors degree in accounting or business administration required. Health care experience is preferred.EXPERIENCE: (Years of experience)
        • Minimum 8 or more years of accounting or finance work experience which demonstrates the abilities to perform in the position. Reporting and analytical experience required. Managed health care experience is preferred
        • Minimum 5 or more years of experience in team management.SKILL REQUIREMENTS: (Include interpersonal skills)

          • Ability to influence and communicate with leaders at all levels of the organization
          • Demonstrated staff management and coaching experience
          • Experience with managing a team in a virtual environment
          • Must be highly motivated with excellent organizational skills to manage large volumes of information and multiple responsibilities.
          • Ability to effectively prioritize with a proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and have the flexibility to adapt to changing processes and timelines.
          • Must be able to interpret complex business situations and understand the Financial Operations implication, and work with multiple systems.
          • This position requires independent judgment and the ability to make timely and sound decisions, and to work autonomously.
          • Must possess excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and demonstrated experience with analytical work.
          • Technical expertise in Excel and database applications is required. Cognos reporting is preferred.
          • This position must be able to work collaboratively and effectively interact with all levels of staff and management.
          • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
