This positin will lead and direct, in partnership with the Business Unit Director and regional Business Development Managers, the worldwide MALDI Imaging business as lead contributor and Subject Matter Expert (SME). The position will be responsible for understanding global market drivers and creating mechanisms (i.e., infrastructure) for sustainable market growth and defense strategy of our strongly competitive position in the marketplace and responsible for the pre and post application support teams and assets in the US and coordination with the global application support teams. Additionally, the role will be the lead development manager for our SpatialOMx centric proteomics imaging business providing drivers that will result in a sustainable growth trajectory with minimal cyclization. This position is within the US commercial team and Imaging/MRMS business unit reporting to the spatialOMx business unit manager for North America. This position will require travel for pre-and post-sales activities, collaborative opportunities, and market development and conferences within the global sales region with a focus on North America.


  • Work directly with the US commercial team and business unit to maintain a stable growth trajectory for opportunity space and NOB metrics in-line with strategic objectives.
  • Work with regional commercial management to identify opportunities, nurture leads, and interpret lost opportunity information in each sales region and gather market relevant input and intelligence to flow into forward strategic planning for the business. Tailor sales and marketing efforts based on regional needs.
  • Create and manage external commercial collaborations to fill gaps in internal technical capabilities, address unmet customer pain points, deploy OEM software or product solutions, and support related campaigns.
  • Manage and coordinate (with relevant market managers or product managers) production of market relevant sales tools including application notes and oral presentations and curate these on the global sales portal. Create awareness of these products within the sales organization.
  • Provide input to applications and software development groups and provide market relevant feedback from customer and prospect discussions to R&D and BU management for prioritization of development efforts to fulfill unmet market needs.
  • Monitor regional business leading and trailing indicators for opportunistic advantages and strategic planning inputs. Provide quarterly updates to the Imaging business unit director concerning lost orders, opportunity status, pipeline health, and relevant forecast information.
  • Execute global, regional, and local campaigns to highlight KOL and reference sites to the greater market.
  • Plan and execute (with MARCOM units) relevant regional marketing and promotional activities including roadshows, conferences, and VIP events with careful attention given to ROI and CPL.
  • Work closely with Product Management to communicate market needs, provide updates on the competitive landscape, and support relevant launch activities
  • Develop cross functional growth objectives with the pharma and proteomics team.


    • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or closely related field with experience in the genomics tools or mass spectrometry market.
    • Keen acumen for resource and time management within a small group.
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills in the English language.
    • Experience in manipulating and interpreting sales related data using Excel or CRM tools.
    • Ability and willingness to travel as travel is required both domestic and international.
    • Ability to function and manage projects with widely distributed resources is essential.
    • Keen decision making through careful evaluation of remote projects and data submitted by collaborative labs for project direction is crucial.
