Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
As Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer you will work with Production, Materials Management and R&D to improve productivity and Quality for electromechanical and optical lab systems. You will also work with interdisciplinary Project teams to transfer new products from design to manufacturing and with manufacturing/logistics team members to ensure that Mettler-Toledo meets customers' exacting product and quality requirements during the production process.
The successful candidate will have a good background in engineering and scientific principles, but more importantly have the interest and ability to learn on the job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports the Production Operator to overcome technical challenges in the assembly and testing of our products. Drives improvement in processes to eliminate production disruption and rework.
  • At the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, takes the technical lead to transfer new product designs from R&D to manufacturing. Must be experienced in the areas of BOM management, assembly drawings, manufacturing assembly instructions, calibration and test instructions, design of test and assembly fixtures, and training for manufacturing staff in assembly and test procedures
  • As a member of the Product Development Project team, assists with Design for Manufacturability, Cost, and Quality.
  • Supports the manufacture of current products through process troubleshooting & failure analysis, process improvement activities and development of process fixtures and automation to support a defect free production environment.
  • Assists with product testing, recording, and analyzing test data, and reporting findings with recommendations to management as needed.
  • Prepares and executes Engineering Change Notices for product improvements, and manages controlled documents resulting from changes. What You Need to Succeed
    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 to 5 years of practical work experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Functional understanding of Bill of Materials, material flow, and ERP/MRP experience is required (SAP preferred).
    • Experience with CAD software required (Solidworks or ProE/Creo preferred).
    • Experience in an ISO9001:2015 manufacturing environment Familiarity with ISO and ATEX regulations preferred.
    • Understands LEAN principles and techniques, is passionate about waste reduction, and enjoys a work environment where continuous improvement and change is normal.
    • Ability to document test/assembly process steps and develop clear and simple work instructions and standard work that will ensure high quality output by operations personnel.
    • Demonstrated ability to design tools and fixtures, ability to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes for optical and electrochemical assemblies. Ability to read, understand, and accurately modify technical drawings. .
