Job Description:

The Wafer Process Engineer is an important member of Sheaumann's engineering team and reports to the Production Manager.*Responsibilities** Manage a small team of technicians performing production wafer fabrication, while troubleshooting issues and recommending process modifications to improve operator yield.* Document operational procedures and protocols through established ISO system and drive continual improvement.* Develop fabrication processes for GaAs- and InP-based Fabry-Perot lasers.* Contribute to the basic maintenance and upkeep of process equipment (PECVD, sputterer, e-beam deposition tool, aligners, ICP-RIE, etc.).* Perform all aspects of wafer fabrication, including photolithography, wet/dry etching, metallization, dielectric deposition, inspection, and profilometry.* Perform as both a single contributor to drive innovation and within a small, targeted engineering team to design, grow, fabricate, and test new laser structures to exceed customer specifications.* Create and manage production/engineering work orders through wafer fabrication.* Collaborate with the Director of Engineering on the development of new process flows for next generation product development.* Analyze product and manufacturing data, seeking correlations to critical-to-function parameters.* Support Engineering team to improve fabrication processes and understand manufacturability constraints, while meeting or exceeding customer requirements.* Develop operational procedures for continual improvement of processes.* Document work and inventory per the company's quality system utilizing MRP software.* Adhere to all internal safety, HR, environmental, and quality guidelines and procedures.*Qualifications** B.S. or M.S. in a science or engineering field preferred.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with internal personnel and external vendors.* Capable of individually driving projects.* Able to work while wearing self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for short times during maintenance procedures.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Employee discount* Flexible spending account* Health insurance* Health savings account* Life insurance* Paid time off* Parental leave* Referral program* Vision insuranceSchedule:* Monday to FridayApplication Question(s):* What is your salary requirement?Work Location: One location
