Following the initial training period, 2 days weekly of remote work may be offered dependent upon project needs.Job Summary:The Supplier Quality Engineer works drives supplier development activities primarily for Teledyne FLIR's Machined Parts supply base. Performs tasks to assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Supplier Development Program. This includes supplier selection, qualification, quality and delivery measurements, corrective action implementation, non-conforming material disposition and day-to-day interaction of Incoming Inspection activities. Responsible for assuring quality standards are met by suppliers in all facets of production, inspection, and value-add service for products received. Primary Duties & Responsibilities :Interprets engineering mechanical drawings, procedures and confers with management or engineering staff with recommended improvements to drawings and methodology to ensure Teledyne FLIR's expectations are clearly defined. Review Quality Control Plan from the supplier confirming it will successfully meet Teledyne FLIR's expectation for quality, reliability standards and on time delivery. Brings supplier related issues to resolution, establishing proven containment and corrective/preventative action. Issue SCAR when needed. Review and approve supplier corrective actions Drive & report on Supplier Quality metrics Support quality improvements and corrective actions through direct communication, formal reports, meetings, and visits, with suppliers. Supports Materials and Purchasing with quality aspects of inventory material procurement. Assists, develops, evaluates, and improves quality testing methods and process control plans. Evaluates data and prepares reports showing improvement efforts, active and completed. Works closely in a team environment on common goals to prevent defects in the manufacturing. Assists inspectors with receiving inspection. Creates receiving inspection plans and other quality functions in SAP. Participates in selecting suppliers and launching new products. Attend daily tac walks and provide supplier quality updates Job Qualifications: Knowledge of both high volume and low volume Machine Shop production processes and requirements, including JIT and FIFO requirements.Experience using 3D CAD model software i.e. SolidWorks.Working knowledge of ISO 9001 System and LEAN tools.Effectively communicate to internal and external contacts, both verbal and written.Ability to present formal presentations.Ability to read blueprints and technical documents.Effective problem-solving skills.Understand SPC, Control Charting, FMEA's.Good understanding of Microsoft software packages including MS Power BI.CMM knowledge preferred.Process Control Plans.Gage R & R and inspection Tools.Knowledge of SAP and ISO Auditor experience a plus.A Bachelor's degree or an Associate degree is preferred.Experience:Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in a Machine Shop environment with an emphasis on process quality engineering for Defense or Aerospace device manufacturers.Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
