Takeda as an Engineer III, Process Development, Microbial
Development Team where you will contribute to process development
for microbial based therapeutics. Under the direction of the
supervisor, responsible for technical contributions to research
projects, including planning and execution of experimental
strategies, as well as interpretation and communication of results.
Additionally, this position may be responsible for line function
oversight of outside contract organizations, including onsite
support and trouble shooting. - The position will assist in
preparing technology transfer documentation and will participate in
technology transfer activities under the direction of the
supervisor, and will contribute to compiling both internal and
external contract data for presentation to the team.How you will
contribute:
- You will work with team and/or cross departmental peers to
execute on assignments, under supervision.
- Contributes to the technical support of a project.
- Prepares experimental protocols.
- Contributes to project work which may include multiple projects
within functional area.
- Reviews, interprets and communicates data internally (e.g., to
supervisor, project teams) and contributes to preparation of
technical reports.
- Contributes to problem solving and resolutions of technical
problems/issues
- Contributes to support of Pharmaceutical Sciences project teams
by being a member of a designated functional area project
team.
- Designs and proposes experiments/unit operations independently
including follow up experiments as necessary.
- Assists with the development of project strategy and
communicates data/decisions within department.
- Supports local initiatives as directed by supervisor and
participates in global Pharmaceutical Sciences or functional
initiatives as appropriate.
- Serves as a technical resource and leverages expertise in
laboratory technology as a functional resource/trainer.
- Coordinates with team/departmental peers on project
work.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- BS degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, pharmacy,
engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 7+ years relevant
industry experience
- Master's degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, pharmacy,
engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 5-6 years relevant
industry experience
- Previous experience with microbial fermentation
- You must have a general understanding of microbial process
development and experience with fermentation including use of
AMBR250 system.
- Basic microbiological skills such as CFU enumeration analysis
and gram staining are required. Experience with anaerobic or other
unusual organisms is required. -
- Experience with media development is preferred. Knowledge of
tangential flow filtration is a plus. -
- Some knowledge of cell and molecular biological, and
biochemical techniques such as qPCR assays, bioanalyzer, automated
bacterial counting system, etc. is considered a plus.What Takeda
