Job Description:
IT Business Intelligence Architect (The Boston Consulting Group,
Inc. - Boston, MA): Responsible for application development and
technical support of BCG’s Marketing-focused business intelligence (BI)
and analytics platform by identifying business needs, performing
data collection, warehousing and analytics, and then delivering
effective business intelligence technical solutions that create
efficiencies across platforms. Specific duties include: perform hands-on
development work to populate, maintain and troubleshoot the Marketing data
mart; collaborate with BI Center of Excellence to define and enable
BI standards and best practices, including a recommended suite of
data analytics tools such as PowerBI, Tableau and Reporting
Services; maintain the codebase and architecture of the Marketing BI
environment; research, identify and implement enhancements to improve
functionality and performance of analytics and reporting tools; team with
vendor partners to deliver features and functionality; support
external developers in architecture principles, design, code reviews
and technical improvements; ensure the technical health of the
application portfolio, quality of the program code standards and
operational effectiveness from a technical standpoint; deliver expertise in
the planning and design of application and tool changes, and
delivery and deployment processes; coordinate deployments to production and
test servers; liaise with key stakeholders to ensure timely handling
of support tickets; build and maintain relationships with external
vendors; and work with other IT groups (Infrastructure, DBAs, Security,
etc.) to ensure optimal set up and management of technical environment.
Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering,
Information Technology or related field (willing to accept foreign
education equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience supporting and
implementing business applications and performing data analysis and
migration. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor's degree and five (5)
years of experience supporting and implementing business applications
and performing data analysis and migration. Specific
skills/other requirements (quantitative experience requirements not
applicable to this section) – must possess the following: (i) Programming with
SQL and T-SQL; (ii) Working with SQL Server, SQL Server Data Tools, and
SSRS; (iii) Advanced database management techniques; (iv) Reporting
and dashboard creation in Dynamics CRM; (v) Delivering data
analytics and advanced reporting using Tableau or SQL Server Reporting
Services; (vi) Data architecture principles including data extraction,
transformation and security; and (vii) Technical problem solving, including
determining technical root causes analysis and production of creative
solutions. Must have unrestricted authorization to work in U.S. M-F, 9:00
