Job Description:
Title: Product Analyst II - Quantitative (Boston, MA) Description: Working under the direction of Product Manager, will contribute
to the development of the company’s product features, pricing and
competitive po position. Will analyze business issues and provide
recommendations for the im implementation of new rating plans, underwriting rules, process
im improvements, and other initiatives to support profitable growth
and im improve competitive position. Specifically: • Understands predictive modeling and other quantitative
concepts and s serves as a resource to other Product Analysts in interpreting
these c concepts for business application. • Develops and presents a comprehensive review of the products
he/she i is responsible for. • Examines the impact of changes in state regulatory environment
on t the product and business processes and proposes necessary
changes. • Designs, reviews, and analyzes monthly and quarterly reports
used to manage the company’s financial and operational performance,
as well as a ad hoc analyses as needed. • Analyzes competitive data, identifies trends and
opportunities. R Recommends areas for enhancement to products to improve
competitive p position. • Plays a key role in User Acceptance Testing, product
verification a and product implementation. • Assist with annual loss and premium budgets. • Effectively uses available tools and data systems to identify,
test a and solve strategic business issues within the company
data/reports, t troubleshoots when there are inconsistencies and presents
findings to m management. • Collaborates with the Actuarial team and other functional
areas s such as Customer Service, Marketing, Claims, Finance,
Information Systems, a and Senior Management to assess the potential effects of product
changes a and incorporates these considerations into recommendations. • Constructively challenges current processes and proposed
solutions to o to obtain the best outcome. Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Operations Research,
Economics, Math or Math or related field (foreign educational equivalent accepted)
and two (2) years o years of experience performing quantitative analysis to predict
and manage custome customer risk and profitability. Special Requirements: Also requires demonstrated expertise: performing regression
modeling, dec decision tree or statistical experimental design; DE performing
data mining usi using SAS and SQL; and DE monitoring the effectiveness of risk
